Ronnarong Thai Tapas Bar in Somerville's Union Square is Closing

A Thai restaurant in the Union Square section of Somerville is going to be shutting its doors.

DigBoston is reporting that Ronnarong Thai Tapas Bar on Washington Street will be closing, though it is not yet known when the exact closing date will be. Ronnarong first opened in 2009, replacing Great Thai Chef, which had the same ownership and was in existence for about 10 years. Great Thai's replacement features Thai small plates, including such items as stir-fried broccoli, white mushroom salad, tofu satay, coconut soup, steamed mussels, and spicy squid.

As soon as we find out a closing date for Ronnarong, we will post an update here.

[June 5 update: The Somerville Patch reports that Ronnarong Thai Tapas Bar will be officially closing its doors on Saturday, June 9, with a "farewell dinner" taking place on Friday, June 8.]

The address for Ronnarong in Union Square is: Ronnarong Thai Tapas Bar, 255 Washington Street, Somerville, MA, 02143.

Thanks to Eater Boston for bringing this to our attention.
