Yoki in Medford Is Taking Over Floating Rock Space in Cambridge

A Japanese restaurant in Medford is going to be opening another location, with this one being in a space in Cambridge's Central Square where a Cambodian dining spot had been.

Cambridge Day is reporting that Yoki, which has a location at Medford's Station Landing, will open at the Mass. Ave. site of the former Floating Rock Restaurant. The article mentions that an earlier plan to merge Yoki and Floating Rock failed, so it now appears that the space will be Yoki's alone rather than being shared with the Cambodian eatery that closed in February. (There had also been talk of a chain restaurant moving into the former Floating Rock space, according to the Cambridge Day article.)

Yoki features sushi as well as Japanese entrees, including such dishes as teriyaki, udon and soba noodles, tempura, and hibachi steak.

[July 17 update: Eater Boston is reporting that the new Yoki in Central Square opens today.]

The address for this new restaurant in Central Square is: Yoki, 485 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02139. The website for the Medford location can be found at http://yokirestaurant.com/

Thanks to Eater Boston for bringing this to our attention.
