Firehouse Subs in Boston's Back Bay to Give Free Subs to Those Who Helped Through May 1

A Florida-based chain of quick-casual sandwich shops whose Back Bay location recently reopened after being closed due to the Boston Marathon explosions is honoring those who helped by offering them free food.

From now through Wednesday, May 1, Firehouse Subs on Boylston Street in Copley Square will be giving out free subs to all first responders, law enforcement officials, firefighters, and emergency medical services (EMS) folks courtesy of the Public Safety Foundation and franchisee Tom Salter.

A note on the chain's Facebook page earlier this week says the following concerning the Copley Square location:

"We're grateful our crew is safe and we can provide them with work again. Thank you to the incredible response by Boston PD and first responders - true heroes. Proud to be founded by firefighters."

The address for Firehouse Subs in the Back Bay is 545 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02116. The website for the chain can be found at http://www.firehousesubs.com/
