It looks like a new Asian restaurant is coming to the section of Cambridge between Porter Square and Harvard Square.
According to a License Commission General Hearing notice on the City of Cambridge website, a place that is tentatively called Spice & Noodle is planning to open on Mass. Ave., with the address indicating that it could be moving into the space where a location of The Coop has been (the Law School branch). The notice mentions that the proposed eatery would possibly have seating for 76 and would be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, with wine and beer possibly served depending on whether they can acquire a liquor license (the hearing will take place tomorrow evening).
As soon as we find out whether the restaurant is definitely planning to go into the Law School Coop space, we will post an update here.
[May 17 update: Eater Boston reports that plans for the restaurant are moving ahead, as the city of Cambridge has approved of a beer and wine license for the place.]
[August 22 update: A new article from Eater Boston mentions that the name of the restaurant will apparently be Yoi rather than Spice & Noodle, and that it will focus on sushi, noodle dishes, and grill items. It has also been confirmed that the dining spot will indeed be moving into the space where a location of The Coop had been.]
[February 24, 2014 update: Eater Boston is now stating (via a new Cambridge License Commission General Hearing page) that another name change has been given to the not-yet-opened eatery, with Yoi being changed to Mix-It.]
[November 28, 2014 update: A note sent from Rich O's Ravings indicates that Mix-It is now open.]
The address for this new Asian restaurant in Cambridge is 1678 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge MA, 02138.
