Beantown Taqueria in Cambridge Is Opening a Second Location on Western Avenue

A Mexican dining spot that opened by the MIT campus in Cambridge a year ago is planning to open a new location nearby, though it is not yet known whether this is a move or a second restaurant.

A License Commission General Hearing notice on the City of Cambridge website indicates that Beantown Taqueria on Mass. Ave. is looking to open on Western Avenue between Central Square and Memorial Drive. The notice mentions that the proposed eatery could have seating for 18 and might be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, with possible hours being 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

[April 9 update: Grub Street Boston reports that this will be a second location for Beantown Taqueria, so the Mass. Ave. location will remain open.]

[August 5 update: According to its website, the new Beantown Taqueria on Western Avenue has opened. (It appears to have opened in the late spring.)]

Based on the menu at the Mass. Ave. location, the new Beantown Taqueria could have such items as tacos, flautas, enchiladas, tostadas, burritos, quesadillas, and chimichangas.
