J.P. Licks Is Opening in Somerville's Assembly Row

Last spring we mentioned that an ice cream cafe may be opening a location in a new complex in Somerville. Now we have learned that this will indeed be happening.

According to a post from the Assembly Row Facebook page, J.P. Licks is going to open within the mixed-used development, which is being built by Route 93 in the Assembly Square section of the city. The new ice cream shop will be one of a number of eating and drinking places coming to Assembly Row, including a restaurant from the Legal Sea Foods group, Papagayo, and Earls Kitchen + Bar (Burger Dive is already open there).

[May 2, 2014 update: Eater Boston mentions (via the ice cream shop's Facebook page) that the new J.P. Licks at Assembly Row is now open.

In addition to another Somerville location (Davis Square), locations of J.P. Licks can be found in the Back Bay of Boston, Beacon Hill, Mission Hill, Cambridge's Harvard Square, Coolidge Corner in Brookline, West Roxbury, Newton Centre, Wellesley, and Dedham. Its website is at http://www.jplicks.com/
