La Victoria Taqueria Is Opening in Arlington

It looks like a brand new Mexican restaurant is coming to Arlington, and the person behind it also happens to own a couple of eateries on the North Shore.

According to one of our sources (and confirmed by the Arlington Patch), La Victoria Taqueria is planning to open on Medford Street in the center of town, with the Medford Street address given indicating that it could be moving into the Tradebuzz.Com space. The Arlington Board of Selectmen page includes the name Alejandro Barrientos in the listing; Barrientos also owns Taqueria La Victoria and Cielito Lindo--both of which are located in Beverly--with the former being a "Mexican street food" spot with tacos, quesadillas, burritos, tortas, and more. It is not known if the Arlington post mistakenly called the upcoming restaurant La Victoria Taqueria instead of Taqueria La Victoria; as soon as we find out whether this is actually a second location of Taqueria La Victoria, we will post an update here.

The Board of Selectmen will look into the restaurant's request for a common victualler license this evening.

[June 6 update: The Arlington Advocate mentions that La Victoria Taqueria has been given approval to open.]

[November 4 update: According to @kcbaskin of The Boston Globe, La Victoria Taqueria opens its doors tomorrow (Wednesday, November 5).]

The address for this upcoming Mexican dining spot in Arlington Center is 12 Medford Street, Arlington, MA, 02474.
