Mass Ave Tavern in Boston's Back Bay to Close

A dining and drinking spot in the Back Bay of Boston will soon be closing its doors.

Eater Boston is reporting that Mass Ave Tavern is shutting down on January 1, with a representative for the place saying that "Our landlord is planning on a renovation of the building and to that end has declined to renew our lease...We are extremely grateful to our neighbors, surrounding businesses, and all of the good folks who have supported us over the last few years. Join us on New Years Eve for one last Champagne of Beers."

Mass Ave Tavern first opened as a spot called 94 Mass Ave in January of 2011, changing over to its current place that summer. The restaurant and bar focused mainly on comfort food and was known in part for its pancake challenges and foosball table.

The address for this soon-to-close spot in the Back Bay is 94 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA, 02215.
