Scopa Plans to Open in Boston's North End

It looks like a new restaurant may be coming to the North End of Boston, and it would be moving into the space where another dining spot had been.

NorthEndWaterfront.com is reporting that Scopa is looking to open on Hanover Street in the former location of Pomodoro, with the dining spot being owned by Gennaro A. Riccio, possibly having beer, wine, and cordials (if approved), and having seating for 22. Little else is known about the proposed restaurant at this point in time, but more will likely be learned about the spot tomorrow (Tuesday, February 24) when a Zoning, Licensing & Construction (ZLC) Committee meeting takes place in North Square.

The address for Scopa would be 319 Hanover Street, Boston, MA, 02113.

[March 10 update: A new post from NorthEndWaterfront.com says that the North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) has voted unanimously to support a liquor license for Scopa, which would be a "refined Italian restaurant" that has seating for 22 and is open for lunch and dinner. If all goes as planned, the restaurant could be opening sometime in June.]

[February 2, 2016 update: A licensing board page within the city of Boston website indicates that Scopa could finally be one step closer to opening by next week, as the city will look into its request for a liquor license on February 10.]
