Man Arraigned for Assault with a Sandwich Board at Quincy Bar

A patron at a Quincy bar is being charged with assault after throwing a sandwich board at another customer early this morning.

The Patriot Ledger is reporting that a New Bedford man "went crazy" after being refused service at Paddy Barry's after last call, yelling at the bartender then assaulting two customers and a person passing by who were trying to help the bartender at the Hancock Street watering hole. The article says that he then threw a sandwich board at one of the people trying to intervene. (The patrons and the passerby said no to any medical attention once the police arrived.)

The 32-year-old man is facing various assault and battery charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a person over 60. The arraignment may take place today.

Paddy Barry's is located at 1574 Hancock Street in the downtown section of Quincy.
