La Voile Brasserie to Open in Brookline's Washington Square

A new restaurant is on its way to one of the hottest sections of Brookline for dining, and this one will focus on French fare.

According to a Facebook post from the Washington Square Association, La Voile Brasserie is going to be opening in the town's Washington Square area, with the note saying that the dining spot is planning to open sometime in September. The post also mentions that the chef of the upcoming eatery arrived from France only two weeks ago, and he will apparently be making such items as fois gras, escargots, roast chicken, bouillabaisse, and moules frites, along with Mediterranean seafood and veggie options.

[July 23 update: According to several sources--including the Facebook thread above--the Brookline location of La Voile is connected to that of La Voile on Newbury Street in Boston's Back Bay; the thread also indicates that the new location will be at 1627 Beacon Street, which is where Vernissage Restaurant had once been.]

[December 17 update: Boston Magazine states that the new location of La Voile opens in Brookline tomorrow (Friday, December 18), and that it will have an open house this evening.]
