Mildred's Corner Cafe in Lynn Closes; May be Replaced by High-End Spot from Neighborhood Restaurant Group

A popular breakfast place on the North Shore has shut down, and a Boston-area restaurant group could be opening a high-end spot within the space.

poster on the Chowhound site mentions that Mildred's Corner Cafe in Lynn is now closed, with The Daily Item reporting that the Neighborhood Restaurant Group (Local 149 in South Boston, the Biltmore in Newton, Biltmore & Main in Reading, and soon, Article 24 in Brighton) is hoping to open a high-end dining spot at the Lewis Street site. If all goes as planned, the as-of-yet unnamed 80-seat restaurant would be open for lunch and dinner and it could be ready to debut around St. Patrick's Day in 2016.

[January 20, 2016 update: The Lynn Journal states that the new dining spot from the Neighborhood Restaurant Group has been given the green light to open by the city. It is not known when exactly it might open, though it appears that it could debut later this year.]

Mildred's Corner Cafe first opened its doors more than 10 years ago.

The address for the now-closed Mildred's Corner Cafe (and proposed dining spot from the Neighborhood Restaurant Group) is 45 Lewis Street, Lynn, MA, 01902.
