The Littlest Bar to Sell Liquor License to Ames Hotel

The future of an iconic Boston bar that has lost its home twice in the past decade now appears to be in doubt.

According to a Twitter post from @DGoodison of The Boston Herald, The Littlest Bar is selling its liquor license to the Ames Boston, a hotel on Court Street that is currently home to the King St. Tavern. Back in September, The Littlest Bar and The Times were both forced to leave their homes on Broad Street to make way for new development; The Times has since taken over the Barney Fanning's space on Broad Street, but while The Littlest Bar had been saying it may consider a move to a new location, there has also been chatter that this may not happen.

The Littlest Bar, which first started out in 1945, was forced out of its original home on Province Street in 2006 to make room for condos; it subsequently moved to Broad Street where it resided for more than 15 years before having to leave.
