Several Boston Restaurants Closed Down Due to Burst Water/Sprinkler Pipes

At least five Boston restaurants have been shut down by the city after having their water/sprinkler pipes burst.

According to a post from Universal Hub, Barney Fannings and Viga (Devonshire Street location) in downtown Boston, Boston Beer Garden in South Boston, The Upper Crust in the South End, and Whiskey's in the Back Bay have been forced to close for the time being, with a page within the city of Boston website showing that all but The Upper Crust have been hit by burst sprinkler pipes. (The notice for The Upper Crust simply says "Pipe bursts in rear basement stairway.") The dining spots will be able to reopen once the necessary repairs have been made and they get clearance to reopen.

While it is possible that at least some of the burst pipes may have resulted from the record cold temperatures from the past few days, this has not been confirmed as of yet.
