Jody Adams to Leave Rialto in Cambridge's Harvard Square

An award-winning chef who is involved with three Boston-area dining spots is saying farewell to one of her restaurants.

According to a press release (and with more information given in a Boston Globe article), Jody Adams will be leaving Rialto in Cambridge's Harvard Square in June, with the plan being for the chef and restaurateur to spend more time with her family and also focus on both new projects and her existing eateries, including an upcoming dining spot coming to Avalon at Prudential Center along with Trade on the waterfront and the new Saloniki in the Fenway. Adams says that the restaurant--which is located in the Charles Hotel--will remain in operation, confirming a message from the Rialto team earlier this month to us in response to rumors both inside and outside the restaurant industry about the future of the dining spot. The Globe says that chef de cuisine David Ladner has been promoted to executive chef of the place, and that Adams is planning on a "big fat" going away party sometime in June.

In addition to being a James Beard Award winner, Jody Adams also competed in the second season of the "Top Chef Masters" series on BRAVO. She and her business partners first opened Rialto 22 years ago.

The address for Rialto is 1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138.
