Brassica Kitchen + Cafe in Jamaica Plain to Open June 1

Last year, we reported that the chefs behind a series of local pop-ups had found a permanent home within a Jamaica Plain cafe and would be gradually changing the spot over to a new place. Now we have learned that the new eatery is getting ready to open.

According to a press release, Brassica Kitchen + Cafe is looking to debut on June 1 in the former Fazenda Cafe space on Washington Street, with Philip Kruta and Jeremy Kean (both formerly of Whisk) being behind the place. The Whisk team started working at Fazenda in the spring of 2015, redoing the menu and hosting supper club nights where the testing of menu items have taken place. Once it officially opens, Brassica will be a coffee shop and bakery during the day, while at night it will focus on French-American comfort food with a menu that changes on a regular basis, and it will also have a craft cocktail program and eventually, a brunch menu and the introduction of an ice cream machine.

The address for Brassica Kitchen + Cafe is 3710 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130.
