Sichuan Gourmet Is Opening in Burlington

It looks like a local group of Chinese restaurants is opening a new location, with this one being in a northern suburb that is suddenly red-hot for dining.

According to a source, Sichuan Gourmet is going to open in the Burlington Square shopping center, which is by the northwest corner of the Middlesex Turnpike/Mall Road intersection in Burlington (just north of the Burlington Mall). Our source says that the dining spot--which is apparently going into the Mr. Chan's space--is very close to opening and it is just waiting for what appear to be final inspections, possibly opening by the week after next. Once it does open, the new Sichuan Gourmet will join others in Billerica, Brookline, Framingham, and Sharon.

A number of new restaurants--including some high-end places--have opened in Burlington of late, and more dining spots are on the way, including a new location of Kenmore Square's Island Creek Oyster Bar.

It appears that the address for this new restaurant in the Burlington Square shopping center will be: Sichuan Gourmet, 91 Middlesex Turnpike, Burlington, MA, 01803. The website for the other locations can be found at

[May 23 update: According to a Twitter post from food/drinks writer @mcslimjb, the new Sichuan Gourmet in Burlington is now open.]
