WAN Convenience/Al's Deli in Allston Has Closed; Status Unknown

An Allston sandwich shop that received national attention last year has closed once again, and its future is unknown at this point in time.

Boston Magazine is reporting that WAN Convenience/Al's Deli on Brighton Avenue is shuttered, with a Facebook post from the place saying "As of May 1st we are closed. Please stay tuned for reopening details." The shop, which had been on Tremont Street in Mission Hill until it closed and moved to its current home a couple of years ago, was featured on Adam Richman's Travel Channel show "Man Finds Food" in May of 2015, along with KO Pies at the Shipyard in East Boston, Alive and Kicking Lobsters in Cambridge, and Bogie's Place at jm Curley in Downtown Crossing.

As soon as we find out what might be happening to the WAN Convenience/Al's Deli space, we will post an update here.

The address for the shop is 172 Brighton Avenue, Allston, MA 02134.
