Rialto in Cambridge's Harvard Square is Closing

Several weeks ago, we reported that an award-winning chef was saying farewell to one of her restaurants. Now we have learned that the restaurant itself will be closing.

According to a Facebook post from the place, Rialto in Cambridge's Harvard Square is shutting its doors at the end of business hours on June 22, which follows earlier news that Jody Adams would be leaving the dining spot this month. Adams will be focusing on her other restaurants, including the upcoming Porto in Boston's Back Bay along with Trade on the waterfront and Saloniki in the Fenway.

It is not yet known what will become of the Rialto space; as soon as we find out more, we will post an update here. (Rialto is located within the Charles Hotel.)

The address for Rialto is 1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138.

Thanks to @TheDrewStarr for bringing this to our attention.

[June 22 update: Cambridge Day confirms what we had heard earlier, that the Rialto space will be taken off the Charles Hotel license and a new independent restaurant will take the space over and will operate separately from the hotel. (Henrietta's Table will remain connected to the Charles Hotel license.)]
