Update: Bistro 131, Finn McCool's to Take Over Broad Street Riot, Julep Bar in Downtown Boston

[Ed note: This article was updated on October 26 to reflect new information, including a name given to the restaurant.]

A new restaurant and a new bar are both on their way to downtown Boston, and they will be taking over the spaces where two dining and drinking spots had been.

According to an email from the Corbett Restaurant Group, an as-of-yet unnamed Italian restaurant will be moving into the space where Broad Street Riot was, while a new high-end sports bar called Finn McCool's will open in the space where Julep Bar had been. Eater Boston mentions that both places--which will be around the corner from each other--will be under the same ownership, while Corbett tells us that the owners are based in Arizona.

Both Broad Street Riot and Julep Bar closed down in the summer of 2015, with the latter having its license suspended after running into trouble with state regulators.

Finn McCool's has no connection to a bar with the same name that had been located on Chatham Street near Faneuil Hall years ago.

The address for the upcoming Italian restaurant is 131 Broad Street while the address for Finn McCool's will be 200 High Street.

[October 26 update: A press release from the Corbett Restaurant Group indicates that the name of the restaurant will be Bistro 131, and that it will have an "Italian spin." In addition, Finn McCool's will have a downstairs lounge called The Barrel Room that will feature beer, whiskey, and scotch. If all goes as planned, both Finn McCool's and Bistro 131 will open in January.]
