Boston Magazine is reporting that Joshua Smith of Moody's Delicatessen and Provisions and the Backroom on Moody Street in Waltham--as well as the New England Charcuterie plant on the other side of the city--is planning to open a store that offers such items as ribs, brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends, sausages, breads, biscuits, cornbread, pretzels, doughnuts, cookies, and more. The article mentions that the as-of-yet unnamed shop, will be two doors away from the deli in the space where a Haitian market had been and will help Smith shift BBQ items and baked goods away from the original space, with Smith saying that the barbecue "sells OK at the deli, but people don't go there thinking, 'I'm going to get some ribs.' If we refocus another space toward that, we can sell our smoked meat and sausages." If all goes as planned, the new store may open by November.
The article also says that Smith is hoping to open an oyster bar somewhere along Moody Street at some point in the future.
It looks like the address for the new shop will be 454 Moody Street, Waltham, MA, 02453.
