According to a licensing board page within the City of Boston website, a restaurant tentatively named Taqueria is planning to open in the Lower Mills neighborhood, with the restaurant including a dining room and bar, and the manager mentioned in the hearing notice being Brian O'Donnell; a source tells us that this is the same Brian O'Donnell who is a partner/owner of a variety of dining spots in and around Boston, including the Lower Mills Tavern which opened a few months ago and is just up the street from where Taqueria would open.
Very little is known about the proposed Taqueria at this point in time; as soon as we find out more (most likely after the hearing takes place next week) we will post an update here.
The address for this upcoming restaurant in the Lower Mills section of Dorchester is 2297 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, MA, 02124.
[April 10, 2017 update: The Improper Bostonian mentions that the new restaurant from Brian O'Donnell--and business partner Ken Casey of Dropkick Murphys--will tentatively be called Antique Taqueria and it will feature ceviches, tacos, mezcal, and tequila. The post says that Colton Coburn-Wood of the nearby Lower Mills Tavern will be heading up the kitchen and that he will offer 3-5 ceviches and 10-12 tacos each day along with daily specials.]
[June 9, 2017 update: The Tables section of The Boston Globe states that the name of the new place in Lower Mills will actually be Yellow Door Taqueria, and we are told that is could be opening in the next week or two.]
[July 19, 2017 update: Boston Magazine says that Yellow Door Taqueria plans to open on Monday, July 24.]
