Rattlesnake Bar & Grill in Boston's Back Bay Has Closed

An iconic restaurant and bar in Boston's Back Bay is closing its doors for good.

The Boston Globe is reporting that the Rattlesnake Bar & Grill on Boylston Street is going to be shutting down, though no closing date has been given as of yet and no reason was given for its closure. The dining and drinking spot--which is also known as Poe's Kitchen at the Rattlesnake--has been a popular hangout for food and drink since opening more than a quarter century ago, with the food options becoming much more inventive and eclectic when chef Brian Poe took charge of the menu over recent times.

Poe is also involved with the Tip Tap Room in Beacon Hill and Bukowski Tavern in the Back Bay and Cambridge's Inman Square.

The address for the Rattlesnake Bar & Grill is 384 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02116.

[December 5 update: The Boston Business Journal states that the Rattlesnake Bar & Grill actually filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation around the time of its closure (the papers were filed on November 11) and that a creditor's meeting is expected to take place on December 22. The article also says that gift cards for the now-closed spot will be honored at Bukowski's Tavern, Lower Depths, Parish Cafe, and the Tip Tap Room.]
