Owners of Beehive and Beat Brasserie May Be Opening New Spot in Boston's Downtown Crossing

The people behind a couple of restaurants in Boston's South End and Cambridge's Harvard Square are apparently looking to open another place in the heart of downtown Boston.

According to a longtime source within the local media, the owners of the Beehive and Beat Brasserie are eyeing the space in the Lafayette City Center in Downtown Crossing where Latitude 360 had been looking to open, with the spot possibly being a restaurant and bar, though few details have been given as of yet. Our source says that a meeting on the proposal will take place on March 13 with the Downtown Boston Residents' Association.

The Beehive and Beat Brasserie are both eclectic dining and drinking spots that offer New American fare and craft cocktails, while the Florida-based Latitude 360 had been hoping to open locations in both Downtown Crossing and Kingston, but plans for both ultimately fell through.
