Poke Bento Plans to Open in Former Samurai Space in Boston's Back Bay

It looks like a new dining spot that taps into an increasingly hot food craze will be coming to Boston's Back Bay, taking over the space where a Japanese and Korean restaurant had been.

A licensing board page within the city's website indicates that Poke Bento is planning to open on Boylston Street, moving into the former Samurai space across from the Prudential Center. Based on the name, it appears that the proposed eatery would offer poke, a Hawaiian raw fish salad that has been showing up at a number of new Boston-area restaurants of late, including Pokeworks and Manoa in Somerville, Poke City in Cambridge, Yoki Express in Boston's Seaport District, and New Sushi in Beacon Hill.

Samurai closed its doors last fall after being in business for approximately 10 years.

The address for this upcoming dining spot in the Back Bay is: Poke Bento, 827 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02116.
