A James Beard Award winner who opened a pop-up eatery last fall is now in the space permanently.
Eater Boston is reporting that Ron Suhanosky has taken over the space at The Street in Chestnut Hill that had been used for a series of rotating pop-ups including his Ronsky's concept, which is now in the space for good. The now-permanent shop is an Italian-style cafe that offers baked goods, salads, panini, coffee, and more, with the place being open for breakfast and lunch along with reservation-only four-course dinners on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Suhanosky had been one of the founders of Sfoglia, a high-end Italian restaurant on Nantucket (now closed) and in New York's Upper West Side; in 2010, he received a James Beard Award for his cookbook Pasta Sfoglia.
The former pop-up space at The Street--which is located along Route 9--had also been home to such spots as Rancatore's, Kane's Donuts, Alice's Table, The Third Piece and OMG! Bagels.
