Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe in Boston's South End Is Open Once Again

A legendary Boston dining spot has officially returned.

Eater Boston is reporting that Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe in the South End has reopened, and as reported here earlier, Damian and Sheree Marciante of Victoria's Diner on Mass. Ave. are the new owners of the Columbus Avenue place--and they are focused on "upholding the institution's historic elements." The post says that the diner is expected to have a grand opening next week, but it is indeed open for business now, with hours being 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily.

Charlie's first opened in 1927, shutting down in the summer of 2014 before reopening under new ownership in early 2016, then closing once again in April of this year. The diner has seen such patrons as Barack Obama, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Julia Child over the years, and has been known in part for its turkey hash.

The address for Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe is 429 Columbus Avenue, Boston, MA, 02116.
