According to people we talked to at Worthy Burger in South Royalton, VT, plans for their other place--Worthy Kitchen in Woodstock, VT--to open in Brookline Village have fallen through, with the issue apparently having something to do with the building in which it was hoping to move into on Washington Street in Brookline Village. When asked if the team might look at another location for the eatery, we were told that nothing is in the works for now. Plans for the place to come to Brookline were first announced in April of 2016, and at the time, it appeared that it could open as soon as late last year.
Worthy Burger, which first opened in 2012 in an old freight house in South Royalton, quickly became a media and industry darling for its wood-fired burgers and impressive local craft beer list. The following year, Worthy Kitchen opened in Woodstock, with the place offering burgers as well as other comfort food items. Both spots are run by Dave Brodrick (who founded the Blind Tiger in New York), Executive Chef Jason Merrill, and CFO Kurt Lessard.
The address for Worthy Kitchen would have been 202 Washington Street, Brookline, MA, 02445.
