According to a license commission agenda page within the city's website, Shaking Crab is looking to open in the Porter Exchange building in Porter Square, and based on the fact that it would be taking over the liquor license held by JMRSS Restaurant, Inc., it appears that it might move into the Tavern in the Square space. (JMRSS Restaurant, Inc. is the parent company for that spot.) If approved, the new location of Shaking Crab would join others in Newton and Quincy, along with a proposed location in the former Troquet space on Boylston Street by Boston Common (Troquet has since moved to Boston's Leather District).
An earlier article from Eater Boston had mentioned that Shaking Crab could be coming to the Porter Exchange building, but at the time, it was not known where exactly it might open within the building.
Shaking Crab offers such items as fried oysters, crab legs, mussels, shrimp, and lobster.
The address for this proposed Cajun spot in the Porter Exchange building is: Shaking Crab, 1815 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02140. The website for the original location in Newton can be found at http://www.shakingcrabnewtonma.com/
[August 18 update: It looks like Shaking Crab is indeed on its way to the Tavern in the Square space (which recently closed), as a Twitter post shows that a sign is now up for the place.]
[December 7 update: An email sent today indicates that Shaking Crab soft-opens in the former Tavern in the Square space on Friday, December 15.]
