Distraction Brewing Company Could Be Opening in Roslindale Village

by Marc Hurwitz

It looks like yet another brewery may be on its way to Boston, though details are few at this point in time.

According to a post from Universal Hub, Distraction Brewing Company is planning to open in Roslindale, moving into the space on Belgrade Avenue where Select Cafe and Emack & Bolio's had been. This follows a Facebook post from Roslindale Village Main Street that says "We're excited to share that 2 Belgrade Avenue...has been leased to a brand new brewery that plans on opening in Spring 2018! The owners will be at the Roslindale Holiday Market on Birch Street to share more information about their project and their beer."

Currently, very little is known about Distraction Brewing Company, though a Facebook page for the company has been set up.

As soon as we find out more about this upcoming brewery, we will post an update here.

[April 5, 2018 update: Distraction Brewing Company could be one step closer to becoming reality by next week, as a license board hearing page indicates that its request for a Farmer Brewery Pouring License is expected to be looked at on April 11, with the notice saying that the business would have a bit more than 1,600 square feet on the first floor of the building with a total of four rooms, while the basement would be used for storage.]

[March 28, 2019 update: boston.com states that Distraction Brewing Company hopes to open its brewery in May, and that it has now launched a fundraising campaign to help pay for upgrades to some equipment and to also increase the brewing capacity of the place.]
