Founding Farmers Could Be Coming to the Boston Area

by Marc Hurwitz

A farmer-owned restaurant group that is based in the Washington, D.C., area may be expanding to the Boston area at some point.

According to an article from Eater Boston, Founding Farmers is looking at sites in Boston, with the post mentioning that the company is majority-owned by nearly 50,000 farmers. The group includes three concepts--Founding Farmers, Farmers Fishers Bakers, and Farmers & Distillers-- along with a distillery called Founding Spirits, with the Founding Farmers restaurants offering scratch-made classic American fare, including soups, salads, sandwiches, and freshly-made bread as well as chicken, steak, seafood, and pasta dishes.

Eater says that the company's search for real estate in the Boston area is in its early stages and that potential restaurants probably would not be coming for at least two years or so.
