Rewild in Quincy Center Is Closing, Looking at New Locations

by Marc Hurwitz

A beer hall and cafe that may be the only one of its kind in the entire country is closing, and the people behind it are now scouting out new locations.

According to a source, Rewild Plant Food + Drink in Quincy is shutting down on Sunday, January 13, as its Hancock Street building is expected to be demolished over the coming weeks, leading them to look at sites in Quincy and other parts of the South Shore along with Boston. The original plan had been for the place to reside in more of a long-term space in Quincy, but they decided to focus more on a short-term space in part because they wanted the concept to debut as quickly as possible while also realizing that a long-term space that would suit their needs did not appear to be available at the time.

Rewild, which first opened in October of 2018, is considered to be the first 100-percent vegan restaurant, cafe, and beer hall in the United States.

The address for the soon-to-close location of Rewild is 1546 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA, 02169. Its website can be found at https://eatrewild.com
