It looks like a mixed-use development may replace an iconic space just off the Southeast Expressway, and it could including options for food and drink.
Caught in Dot is reporting (via bldup.com) that The Beat is planning to take over the old site of the Boston Globe headquarters in Dorchester, with the Morrissey Boulevard complex possibly including a restaurant, brewery, and beer garden along with a food hall. It appears that the development may also include office and industrial space for companies that focus on robotics, life sciences, and high-tech manufacturing, and a fitness center and retail space could also in the works as well. Both posts indicate that the food hall would be located in the atrium of the structure and that it would be open to the public during working hours. Curbed Boston mentioned last year that The BEAT would be coming to the former Globe headquarters, but there wasn't a lot of information on the plans for the space at the time other than a possible brewery and office space.
The Boston Globe moved its headquarters to Boston's Financial District in 2017, while its printing/production facility moved to Taunton at around the same time.
