What was once a pair of coffee shops has disappeared from the local landscape retail-wise, as its second store is now closed.
According to an article from Eater Boston, Barrington Coffee Roasting Company in Boston's Back Bay has shut down, joining its Fort Point location which closed in January. With the closing of its Newbury Street shop, Barrington no longer has a retail presence in the city, though it does have a new spot in South Boston called the Boston Coffee Lab, which is more of a part of its wholesale business, being a training and educational place located at the G-TEK Labs coworking space on Damrell Street.
Eater mentions that a new owner is taking over the Barrington space on Newbury Street and opening a cafe there, though little other information has been given at this point in time.
Barrington Coffee Roasting Company, which first started out in 1993, is headquartered in the Berkshires (in Lee), with its wholesale business selling its coffee online and in a variety of Boston-area shops and cafes.
The address for the now-closed Back Bay location of Barrington Coffee was 303 Newbury Street, Boston, MA, 02115. The website for the business can be found at https://barringtoncoffee.com/
