Last year, a suburban restaurant that had a local radio personality behind it had shut down, and earlier this year it was reported that the place would morph into a new spot under different ownership. Now we have learned that the new restaurant has opened.
According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, 29 Rustic Mediterranean is now open in Sudbury, taking over the space on Hudson Road where 29 Sudbury had been. The new dining spot features "mindfully crafted Mediterranean comfort food for the whole family," including such options as wood-roasted olives and almonds, Moroccan shrimp, crisp calamari, pizzettes, pasta dishes, ribeye steak, pork chops, swordfish steak, a French vegetable stew, burgers, and macaroni and cheese.
In April of 2018, Whole House Group, which was founded by Chris Stephans and WAAF radio host Greg Hill, sold both 29 Sudbury and Flank in Waltham, with the latter shutting down and being replaced by a steakhouse called The Federal.
The address for 29 Rustic Mediterranean is 29 Hudson Road, Sudbury, MA, 01776. Its website can be found at https://www.rustic29.com/
