Tori Jiro Plans to Open at Arsenal Yards in Watertown

An international group of yakitori restaurants will be opening its first outlet in the United States, and it will be located in a new complex just west of Boston.

According to a press release, Tori Jiro is planning to open at the Arsenal Yards in Watertown, with Yuki Watanabe being behind the place along with more than 60 restaurants in his native Japan along with Hong Kong, The Philippines, and Italy. The upcoming dining spot will feature char-broiled  yakitori, which are bite-sized pieces of chicken on skewers; karaage, or Japanese fried chicken; and charcoal-grilled chicken meatballs with tare, which is a sweet soy-based sauce.

Tori Jiro is one of a number of restaurants and bars coming to Arsenal Yards, a mixed-use development that will be located at the site of the old Arsenal Mall in East Watertown. Some spots announced for the complex include Pepe's Pizza, Condesa Restaurante Mexicano, Tender Greens, Shake Shack, Pokeworks, and City Works Eatery and Pour House. (Some of the dining and drinking spots will be opening around late 2019.)
