Prime Pizza and Subs in Lexington Has Closed; Spice Box Pizza Is Replacing It

A suburban spot that had once been known for its roast beef sandwiches has closed, and it appears that a new restaurant that could feature both pizza and Indian food is replacing it.

According to a source, Prime Pizza & Subs in Lexington is no longer in operation, and a sign is now shown out front for a new place that will apparently be called Spice Box Pizza & Indian Cafe. An earlier Board of Health meeting page indicated at the time that the new eatery might be called Spice Box Curry & Pizza, though it looks like the name went through a slight change along the way.

Prime Pizza & Subs had originally been called Prime Roast Beef & Seafood before an ownership change took place; the original Prime Roast Beef was considered by some to have North Shore-quality roast beef sandwiches, with a blog post from our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) giving it positive reviews.

The address for the now-closed Prime Pizza & Subs (and the new Spice Box Pizza) is 321 Marrett Road, Lexington, MA, 02421.

[August 6 update: A poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page shows a picture of a grand opening sign out front at Spice Box Pizza, and the poster says that the place apparently had its official opening yesterday.]
