Rewild Planning to Reopen in Cambridge's Central Square

by Marc Hurwitz

Earlier this year, a beer hall and cafe that may be the first of its kind in the United States announced that it was leaving its temporary space and would be looking for a more long-term site in which to move. Now we have learned where it might be heading.

Cambridge Day reports (via a Kickstarter page) that Rewild is looking for a location somewhere in Cambridge's Central Square, with the business saying that it would be a 4,700-square-foot space with an outdoor beer garden and that it would also be a place for local musicians, artists, and entrepreneurs. Rewild opened in Quincy Center last October only to shut down in January, as the original plan had been to reside in more of a long-term space in Quincy, but they decided to focus on a short-term space because they wanted to open as quickly as possible while also considering a long-term space in the future. At the time of its closure, the owners started looking at other spaces in Quincy along with elsewhere on the South Shore and in Boston.

Rewild is considered to be the first 100% vegan restaurant, cafe, and beer hall in the entire country.
