Sweet Rice Opens in Jamaica Plain

Last summer it was reported that a longtime favorite for Cambodian and Thai food was closing and that an Asian restaurant with one other location in Boston would be taking over its space. Now we have learned that the new spot is now up and running.

According to a message from the place, Sweet Rice opens today in the former Wonder Spice Cafe space in Jamaica Plain, joining its original location in Charlestown. Based on the menu at that location, it appears that the Centre Street outlet will feature Thai fare and sushi, and an earlier article had mentioned that the food offerings at the JP location would indeed be similar to that of the Charlestown restaurant.

Wonder Spice Cafe, which closed in March of this year, offered a variety of Southeast Asian dishes including Pad Thai, Khmer soup, mango fried rice, and shrimp satay.

The address for the new location of Sweet Rice is 697 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130. The website for the original location in Charlestown can be found at https://www.sweetriceboston.com/
