A new music club and multi-purpose venue in Somerville that has been a long time in the making is finally about ready to open.
According to a Facebook events page, The Jungle Community Music Club plans to open in Union Square on May 10, echoing what a job post within the Craigslist site had recently said. It appears that the new spot will feature more than just music based on an earlier Vanyaland article, as the Sanborn Court venue could offer yoga, music lessons, open mic nights, and more along with live music, and it will also include a restaurant within its space. Expect to see mostly local music acts at The Jungle, which looks to have a capacity of 85.
Plans for The Jungle date all the way back to the spring of 2017, when it was first announced that a "community music club" was planning to open somewhere in Somerville.
