Coconut Newton Is Replacing Coconut Cafe in Newton Centre; Owners of Rice Passions in Revere Behind It

The people behind a Revere restaurant will be expanding to a space in Newton Centre, and they will be honoring the dining spot that currently resides in that space.

According to an article from Eater Boston, Teradate Suntornnut and Fonthip Suntornnut of Rice Passions are opening Coconut Newton in Newton Centre, taking over the Coconut Cafe space on Beacon Street. The post indicates that the new eatery will feature Thai food (as do both Rice Passions and Coconut Cafe) and that it is keeping elements of both the name and the menu of the outgoing spot. If all goes as planned, Coconut Newton could be opening in the early part of July.

Coconut Cafe has been in business since 1996.

The address for this new Thai restaurant in Newton Centre will be: Coconut Newton, 759 Beacon Street, Newton Centre, MA, 02459.

[July 18 update: A Yelp page for the place indicates that Coconut Newton is now open.]
