The Parrot Opens in Hull; Takes Over Former Red Parrot Space

A seaside restaurant and bar on the South Shore that changed ownership several months ago is now partially open as a new spot with a slightly different name.

According to its social media pages, The Parrot has opened in Hull on weekends only for now, taking over the space on Hull Shore Drive across from Nantasket Beach where The Red Parrot had been. As reported earlier, Brian Houlihan (Bia Bistro in Cohasset, Galley Kitchen & Bar in Scituate, The Tinker's Son in Norwell, Trident Galley & Raw Bar in Hingham) is behind the place, which is just open on weekends because its roof deck is still being built. When done, the space is expected to include a dining area with traditional seaside options in the front, a tavern-type space in the back, and a main dining area upstairs that will be more upscale, and the aforementioned roof deck, though if any of the final setup of the space changes, we will post an update here.

The address for The Parrot is 1 Hull Shore Drive, Hull, MA, 02045. Its website will be at http://www.theparrothull.com/

[July 18 update: According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page (and confirmed by the restaurant's Facebook page), the Parrot is now open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner in the downstairs sections only, as the upstairs dining area and the roof deck are still under construction.]
