A Chinese restaurant in Somerville that was known in part for its hot pot options has closed, and a new dining spot that will apparently focus on both Chinese and Japanese fare is planning to replace it.
According to a poster within the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Yoi Sushi & Chinese Restaurant is looking to open in Union Square in the space on Bow Street where Yuki Shabu had been until recently, with a licensing commission page mentioning that the new eatery would be open for lunch and dinner daily and that it is seeking a liquor license for the space. An OpenCorporates page shows a Quincy address for the parent company of Yoi (Bow Street Charm Corp.) along with the names of four people involved, though very little additional information has been given on the upcoming place at this point in time.
Yuki Shabu first opened in March of 2016, moving into the space where Union Square Donuts had been until it moved a couple of storefronts away.
The address for Yoi Sushi & Chinese Restaurant (and the now-closed Yuki Shabu) is 16 Bow Street, Somerville, MA, 02143.
