Alma Gaucha Prime Brazilian Steakhouse May Replace The Social Register within Aloft Hotel in South Boston

A steakhouse may be on its way to a particularly hot section of Boston, and it could be replacing a trendy restaurant and bar, though this has not yet been confirmed.

According to a licensing board hearing page within the city's website, Alma Gaucha Prime Brazilian Steakhouse is planning to open in South Boston, with the address indicating that it would be opening within the Aloft Boston Seaport Hotel. The listing mentions that the license would be coming from Aristocrat Hospitality, which is the group behind The Social Register within the hotel, and the capacity of Alma Gaucha appears to be similar to that of The Social Register, so it could be replacing that restaurant. (As soon as we get more information, we will post an update here.)

The Social Register first opened in June of 2017.

The address for Alma Gaucha Prime Brazilian Steakhouse (and Aloft Hotel) is 401 D Street, South Boston, MA, 02210.

[December 16 update: A Facebook post from the place indicates that The Social Register is now closed.]
