A music club on the edge of Somerville's Union Square faces an uncertain future, as its space could become the site of new development.
According to a Facebook post, a meeting will be taking place to discuss new development plans for the Thunder Road space on Somerville Avenue, with the notice saying that the developers will present their plans and discuss the proposal with neighbors on September 25 at the Somerville Police Station. One of the workers at Thunder Road had posted in the thread that the place remains open and that an end date has not been announced, though that post appears to have been taken down. Once the meeting has taken place and more information has come out, we will post an update here, so stay tuned.
Thunder Road opened in September of 2015, taking over the space where the Radio music club had been, and before that, a dance club called Club Choices.
