It looks like a Japanese restaurant may be on its way to Brookline, taking over the space where a burger spot had been.
According to an article in the Patch, Omori is planning to open in Brookline Village in the former Best Burger Bar space on Station Street. The proposed dining spot has a connection to three other restaurants in the Boston area--New Sushi in Allston and Boston and Nijiya Sushi in Medford--and it plans to have seating for 40 inside and an additional 18 outside. A hearing on Omori took place earlier this week; as soon as we find out the outcome of the hearing, as well as when the place might open and what might be on the menu, we will post an update here.
Best Burger Bar first opened in the summer of 2017, taking over the space where the Middle Gray had once been. The dining spot, which focused on burgers and cocktails, shut down toward the end of last year and while it had hoped to reopen at some point, those plans apparently fell through.
The address for the proposed Omori is 6 Station Street, Brookline, MA, 02445.
