SouthSide Tavern in Quincy May Be Replaced by New Residential Development

A neighborhood watering hole in Quincy that is known in part for its wings and bar pizza could be making way for new development.

According to an article from Wicked Local, the owner of the property housing SouthSide Tavern on Liberty Street has proposed tearing down the building and replacing it with a six-story residential structure. A meeting on the proposal is slated for November 6 at the Cyril P. Morrisette Post 294 on Liberty Street, and Ward 4 City Councilor Brian Palmucci says that "It is a dense, ambitious project that I anticipate will be met with a lot of opposition from nearby residents."

Another location of SouthSide Tavern can be found on Washington Street in South Braintree Square.

The address for the Quincy location of SouthSide Tavern is 73 Liberty Street, Quincy, MA, 02169. Its website can be found at https://www.sstavernquincy.com
