It looks like yet another restaurant in the Chinatown section of Boston is closing.
According to a tweet from @FortPointer, Bubor Cha Cha on Beach Street is getting ready to shut down, with a sign out front saying that the dining spot will close for good after business hours tomorrow (Thursday, November 14). No reason has been given for its closure, and it is not yet known what might happen to the space, so keep checking back for updates.
Bubor Cha Cha first opened in 2009, initially focusing on Malaysian, Thai, and Indonesian fare but eventually focusing more on Cantonese fare including a variety of seafood dishes. The restaurant is one of several well-known spots in Chinatown to close over the past few years, including Pho Hoa, East Ocean City, New Dong Khanh, New Shanghai, and Chau Chow City.
The address for Bubor Cha Cha is 45 Beach Street, Boston, MA, 02111.
[January 22, 2020 update: A Twitter post from @y2000k confirms what a couple of other sources told us earlier, that a new place called Chef Tan is planning to move into the former Bubor Cha Cha space. The sign out front mentions that the upcoming restaurant will feature "authentic Hunan cuisine," though no other details have been given as of yet.]
