Last week, it was reported that a Watertown restaurant featuring globally-inspired cuisine along with craft beer and cocktails had closed its doors. Now we have learned that a new concept has come to the space.
According to several sources, a new Italian restaurant is now operating in the Country Mile space on Belmont Street. Very little is known about the new spot, including a menu and who is involved, so stay tuned for updates.
Country Mile shut down this past Saturday after being in business for approximately a year; Vermont natives Matt and Nancy Sargent, who were behind the restaurant, have also run a series of "Phantom Dinner" underground dinner events along with a food truck and dining spot before coming to the Boston area to help with the opening of Brewer's Tap & Table in Waltham, then opening Country Mile.
The address for the new restaurant in the Country Mile space is 136 Belmont Street, Watertown, MA, 02472.
[November 14 update: The website for Country Mile now has more information on the new concept in the space, saying that the place features old world style Italian cuisine from chef Jeffrey Cincotta (who is presumably the same Jeffrey Cincotta who runs Molinari's in Dorchester).]
[January 17, 2020 update: A Wicked Local article states that the new Italian restaurant that replaced Country Mile is called Ravello's, and it is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, offering such items as calamari, arancini, shrimp fra diavolo, chicken picatta, tiramisu, and more. (Its website is at https://www.ravelloitaliankitchen.com/)]
