A couple of months ago, a high-end Cuban restaurant opened up in downtown Boston, and now we have learned that it has been joined by a bar underneath the place.
According to an article from boston.com, Mariel Underground has opened below Mariel in Post Office Square, with the place being a separate cocktail spot that serves both food and drink (the post mentions "happy hour bites" on the food end). As of now, it looks like the bar is open for food and drink Tuesday through Friday starting at 5:00 PM and it opens for drinks on Saturdays starting at 9:00 PM.
COJE Management Group opened Mariel in September, joining Lolita, Ruka, and Yvonne's, all of which are run by the Boston-based hospitality group.
